Mark Karasick
“The artist confronts us with the implications and ambiguities
of photographic sources. In probing the idea of representation,
Karasick puts forward questions about the arbitration between
digital and painterly conflict. This is painting with heat;
this is the physical act. What is paint for but to disprove
media and memory?” Si Si Penaloza, CANADIAN ART
Tristan Stevens
“A re-occurring cast of images populates Tristan Stevens’ work
and these images are laid out on canvas, paper and board like
stickers in a child’s annual. The placement is seemingly random,
but owes its order to deep-rooted notions. The result might be
compared to a portrait of thought with each piece forming a resolution
of conflicting opinions.” Simon Davenport, OUTPOST Gallery, UK
